Webinar: Trees, Birds and Us - Relationship between Birds and Trees


Trees are a common habitat of many species of bird. In fact, birds and trees have a commensalistic relationship. We have invited Ms. Woo Ming-chuan from Hong Kong Bird Watching Society in this webinar to introduce the common concept, guideline, measures and case studies of bird protection during the tree works and construction works.

Chuan is consistently passionate in nature conservation and develop her career in environmental NGOs with over nine years of experience in environmental monitoring and policy advocacy.


She joined The Hong Kong Bird Watching Society (HKBWS) in 2015 and has been speaking out for wild birds and the protection of their habitats. She had dialogues with different Government departments and stakeholders to provide ecological advice on various works or projects, such as tree works, construction projects, building design, land use planning, and urban green area management.


The trimming of trees by the Government tree team at an egretry during the breeding season in 2017 was the most serious and unfortunate incident that Chuan has followed up. She was also involved in the publication and revision of HKBWS’s “Guidelines for Planning and Carrying out Construction Works at Egretries”.


CEU:

For ISA Credential holders who meet at least 80% attendance rate and input correct course code in evaluation form given, CEU will be granted.


Evaluation Form:

All participants must complete the evaluation form in 3 days after the event. At the end of the course, a unique “course code” will be immediately announced to all participants. CEU will be granted to ISA Credential holders with correct input of course code in the evaluation form.


Payment:

Please settle your payment by bank transfer to the Hang Seng Bank account: 789-314119-001 (ISA Hong Kong Chapter Ltd), and copy your transfer slip with the full name, mobile and email of registree to education@isahongkong.org before the deadline.

Please note that payment is not refundable and no change of registration accepted once the payment is settled.


Access to Zoom:

Participants must provide one email address during registration. To access the Zoom webinar, participants must have your own Zoom account and login under your registered email address. Participants must make sure fluent Internet connection and effective devices to attend the course.
