Trees are vital resources in our city. They provide important functions such as shade, temperature regulation, air purification, and beautifying our environment. Beyond these, trees play a crucial role in providing food, living space, and breeding grounds for various organisms. Trees are intricately linked with biodiversity, bringing vitality and vibrancy to our urban landscape.
Exploring Urban Trees and Biodiversity - Tertiary Student Training Program: Through comprehensive training, participants will gain an in-depth understanding of Hong Kong's urban trees and explore the vital relationships between trees and other organisms. They will also have the opportunity to become ambassadors, promoting the importance of trees, inspiring the public to appreciate biodiversity, and jointly safeguarding our green treasures.

Target: Tertiary Students (No restrictions on major; priorities will be given to students in tree management and environment-related fields)

Training Details
15/2/2026 (Sun) 10:00 - 17:30 Indoor Training (I) (II) & Assessment:
Roles of trees in city and biodiversity, tree biology, identification of common trees and tree-related organisms, interpretation knowledge and skills, assessment
28/2/2026 (Sat) 09:30 - 12:30 Outdoor Training I:
Tree biology, identification of common trees and tree-related organisms, and guided tour demonstration
1/3/2026 (Sun) 09:30 - 12:30 Outdoor Training II:
Practice of tree identification and conducting guided tour
[ The training materials will be in Chinese and the training will be conducted in Cantonese supplemented with English. ]
*Participants who complete the training and pass the assessment will become ambassadors, promoting tree and ecological conservation to the public.
**Ambassadors who fulfill the service requirements will be awarded a certificate.
