The visit to EcoPark offers participants a unique opportunity to explore sustainable waste management and the circular economy, through guided tours to Biochar Centre, Hong Kong Biomass (Wood) Collect and Recycle Company (HK Biomass) and WEEE · PARK (WEEE for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).

EcoPark is the first and currently the only recycling-business park developed by the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) specially for the recycling industry. Currently, EcoPark has over 10 tenants engaged in recycling business of various types of waste, including woody waste.

Biochar exemplifies the successful implementation of circular economy principles in urban forestry, contributing to a more sustainable city. The Biochar Centre in EcoPark uses cutting-edge technology for converting woody waste into biochar, a sustainable material that reduces carbon footprint, for use in sustainable urban farming and landscaping, and many other circular applications. Besides, HK Biomass also transforms waste wood into different products. WEEE·PARK adopts advanced technologies to turn regulated WEEE into valuable secondary raw materials through a series of detoxification, dismantling and recycling processes.
